President Lee Jongseok was born in Daegu, 1961. He graduated Seoul National University(School of Law), passed the national bar examination and begun his legal career as Judge at Incheon District Court in 1989.

For almost 30 years since then, President Lee has continued his judicial service at various posts such as Judge at the Seoul Civil District Court, Chief Presiding Judge at the Seoul Central District Court(Bankruptcy Div.), Chief Judge at the Suwon District Court, and Chief Presiding Judge at the Seoul High Court. During his time as a judge, President Lee carried out trials in adherence to the law and principles and also took on diverse responsibilities in judicial administration.

Appointed as Justice at the Constitutional Court in 2018, President Lee has issued decisions contributing to the order and stability of our society while safeguarding the basic rights of the people, especially minorities. Moreover, he actively engaged in multiple academic associations and club activities within the Constitutional Court, leading the way in cultivating a harmonious atmosphere through cordial interactions with the staff.

In November 2023, President Lee was inaugurated as the 8th President of the Constitutional Court of Korea.
