Welcome to Constitutional Court of Korea

Greetings, dear visitors.
It’s a pleasure to have you here on our website.

The Constitutional Court is an institution established to safeguard the Constitution and guarantee the basic rights of the people.

Founded and grown alongside the current 1987 Constitution, the Constitutional Court has dedicated ceaseless efforts to cultivate democracy and the Rule of Law. Now, its achievements are recognized not just within our country but also globally.

In recent times, our society is undergoing rapid changes, presenting us with new tasks and challenges. The Constitutional Court will respond to these changes while maintaining allegiance to its basic principles.

Above all, the Constitutional Court will give precedence to ‘prompt and fair trials’ in its way to gain the trust of the people. The Constitutional Court will contribute to social cohesion by resolving diverse conflicts with different interests harmoniously.

The Constitutional Court’s website is an open space for all of us, which serves as a warehouse of easily accessible information for everyone. I wish this place provides a modest aid in developing and deepening your understanding about the Constitution, constitutional adjudication system and basic rights. Please feel free to visit our website whenever and wherever constitutional questions arise.

Drawing from the accumulated experience and achievements, the Constitutional Court of Korea will faithfully fulfill its inherent duties of ‘safeguarding the Constitution’ and ‘guaranteeing the basic rights of the people.’ We ask for your sincere support and encouragement.

Thank you.
