President Lee, Kang-Kook, following a decision by the Council of Justices on February 9, promoted and appointed the former Deputy Secretary General Kim, Taeck Soo as the Court's Secretary General (minister-level) on February 11, 2012.

While serving as a judge, Mr. Kim was credited for his meticulous and rational judgments as well as for his mild, reticent character and modest, discreet behaviors. While working as a lawyer for Korean law firm Lee & Ko, he has also served as a member of the Administrative Appeal Committee of the Prime Minister's Office and Director of KBA Legal Aid Foundation. During his office as the Deputy Secretary General, he contributed to establishing the Constitutional Research Institute dedicated to long-term studies on constitutional justice and has been leading the preparation works to host the Inaugural Congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions to be held in Seoul in May this year. He currently has two children with his wife, Mrs. Kim, Jin Shil.

The new Secretary General Kim has been in office as the Deputy Secretary General (vice minister-level) for a year and nine months since May of 2010.
