Established with people's strong movement for democracy in September 1988,
the Constitutional Court of Korea has strived to protect fundamental rights
and uphold the ideas and values of the Constitution for the past 23 years.
As a result, the Constitution is no more a mere ornament
in the code of laws; a standard for all governmental acts
to be followed, and a faithful guardian of the Constitution.
The Court therefore has been reported to be the most
trusted governmental body for the recent several years
and recognized internationally as one of the best example
for the role of its constitutional adjudication system
as well.
The Court will continue to do its best to bring free
democracy and the rule of law into full bloom so that
the people can pursue happiness with their dignity
and value more intact.
